ASIC Business Address Registration

As part of the service, Gordon Executive Centre provides consent to businesses to use the address of Gordon Executive Centre as their official business address, Principal Place of Business, and Registered Office. This is important for registering your virtual business/mail address as your official business address for registration of your propriety limited corporation and for correspondence with the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC).

ASIC Principal Place of Business

If you work out of your home you may use a serviced office centre address for your “Principal Place of Business.” While the text in the ASIC guidelines says that if you are a company that using another address is not allowed, the intent of the use of “company” (uncapitalised) in that sentence is as opposed to working out of a home. This means that if you have a commercial premise (not a home) that ASIC does not generally allow use of another address as a “Principal Place of Business.”

The ASIC guidelines stipulate that “the alternative address must be an address within Australia at which you can be served with documents.” As we are a serviced office centre we have staffed reception from 8.30 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. on business days, ready to receive any served documents.

One ASIC restriction noted is that using our serviced office centre as an alternate address for a “Principal Place of Business” is not allowed if a company is an AFS (Australian Financial Services) licensee. (An exception is if you have a physical office with us or use our meeting rooms to conduct your business. In such case the address would not be “alternate.”)

Rate for Mail/Business Address Service

The rate for the Mail/Business Address Service is $11.55 per week plus GST, or $55 per month including GST. For a six month commitment the rate is the equivalent to $10.38 per week/$45 per month plus GST, or $297.00 including GST.

To start there is an additional $55.00 deposit only for international clients. The service continues with one month notice before the end of the initial commitment period (1-3-6 months)required to end the mail service .

Any courier or post charges are cost plus 10% plus GST. International forwarding is cost plus 10%. Incoming faxes e-mailed to you attract a 50 cents per page plus GST charge. Scanning and e-mailing of mail is available and attracts a charge of $3 for the first page, 50 cents for additional pages up to $10 per 10 minutes plus GST. Packages left at reception will attract a $1 per day after the first 24 hours. Other secretarial, or postage, and packaging charges such as for envelopes may apply for special requests.

Fair use policy: The service is intended for professional office use and includes a few packages per month and a reasonable amount of mail. Should such policy in the our view not be followed we reserve the right to end the service.
